Little Waltham Speech Festival
We are excited to announce that this year’s Little Waltham Speech Festival will take place during the week beginning Monday, 24th March. This is your opportunity to share your voice, inspire others, and speak about a topic that matters to you. The theme of this year's festival is ‘Voices for Change’, encouraging you to talk confidently about ideas, causes, and issues that are important to you and our school community.
Speaking in front of others is an important skill that helps you build confidence, develop communication skills, and express your thoughts and ideas clearly. Your voice has the power to make a difference!
What you need to do:
- Choose a topic that you feel passionate about and would like to share with your class.
- Prepare a short speech (around 2 minutes) to present to your class during the week beginning Monday 24th March.
- Use minimal notes to help you speak naturally—however, we understand that this may feel challenging, and we will always support those who need it.
- Be creative! You can share a personal story, raise awareness about a cause, or inspire others with something you care about.
Whole School Speech Festival Showcase
After the class presentations, two pupils from each year group will be chosen to perform in our Whole School Speech Festival Showcase on Friday, 4th April at 9:00 am. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your message with the entire school community!
We can’t wait to hear your inspiring speeches. Be bold, be confident, and use your voice for change!
